Four years of work on the "Zen" microarchitecture for AMD's range of x86 processors have culminated in the chip manufacturer retaking the high-end segment at the beginning of 2017. CPUs bearing the Ryzen name offer multiple cores along with an unbeatable price-performance ratio in addition to Multithreading on all but the entry-level range of CPUs. 

In addition to the AMD Ryzen Quadcore-, Hexacore- and Octacore CPUs for gamers and content creators (Ryzen 7 / 5 / 3), AMD offers an additional series of scalable server CPUs codenamed "Naples" bearing the retail name Ryzen Epyc which are also based on the "Zen" microarchitecture.
